The Opportunity
Due to expansion, the opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Engineer has arose within a world class manufacturing facility based in Thatcham. The Role
Working alongside the current Maintenance Team, your role will be to help and assist with the maintenance of the corrugator. The machinery at the site is cutting edge and currently works a 24/5 pattern per week. On the weekends the machine will have its down time and this is where you come in! During the downtime you will be able to carry out repairs to hydraulic, Pneumatics, Steam and light weight machinery. You will also be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of this machine to a high standard with the goal in retaining its world class status.

The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for:

*Build and assemble mechanical components according to OEM specification / requirements.
*Inspect components, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.
*Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
*Carry out calibrations.
*Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
*Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems.
*Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components.
*Replenish fluids and components.
*Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair of hydraulic systems, pneumatics systems, Steam systems and component in steam boiler operations)
*Keep logs of work and report on issues.

The Candidate
As the Mechanical Fitter you will have a passion for fixing things and wont be afraid to get your hands dirty! Ideally we would like someone who has previous experience within a similar environment , so if you have ever worked within a production, manufacturing, recycling plant or as a maintenance engineer, mechanical fitter, technician, engineer, within another environment we would like to hear from you!

36 hours a week
Night shift 7pm to 7am
