Electrical Controls Technician
Oxfordshire

£30k, Monday - Friday 37.5hours, Pension, Healthcare, Gym Classes, Occupational Health, Childcare Vouchers, 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays.

A world known brand with in excess of 20,000 employees who are currently looking to expand their team in Oxfordshire with an Electrical Controls Technician.

The Role

In this role you will be required to work alongside experienced electrical control design engineers and help provide electrical design solutions to a well-established manufacturing process, you'll join a team of 6 design engineers covering the design of the electrical controls of manufacturing equipment. Ideal experience would come from a packaging industry but this isn't essential. You'll be joining a team with years of experience and who are the centre of the operation for the companies multiple UK sites, which will help you develop and progress as an engineer.
You'll be getting experience hands on covering developing test rigs, prototypes, and working closely with the engineers on modifications to existing machinery and controls equipment to improve process and efficiency. We don't need someone who can program PLC's and HMI's but if you have exposure on fault finding that would be great. You'll be ideally electrically biased and have exposure/knowledge of designing mains, sensor, instrumentation, machine and process control systems, motors and LV control systems. You may not be familiar with all aspects of this but if you have covered some of this please don't hesitate to reply.
You'll also have hands on experience with controls equipment including PLC fault finding through HMI's as well as exposure working with drive controllers and distributed controls, you'll work alongside a senior member of the team when programming these, so you don't need to be able to do this yourself and this can be from any vendor. As part of the role, you will also work alongside the mechatronics team and assist with some of their work, although this isn't a skill you require to get this position you will be training up on the basics.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role will be qualified at NVQ Level 3 or HNC Level or equivalent in Electrical Controls or Controls Design or associated subject. You'll have knowledge on the design side for a manufacturing/production company from any industry. You'll have exposure on Autocad at 2D level and will with a real interest in process improvement and be a real problem solver. You need to be someone who wishes to join a company which actively looks to train and develop there engineers.

The Package

The role comes with a £30000 salary depending on experience, Monday - Friday 37.5hours, Pension, Healthcare, Gym Classes, Occupational Health, Childcare Vouchers, 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays.
