Job Description

SHEQ Manager (NEBOSH, Civils)
Location: Oxfordshire
Package: Basic around £50,000 & £6,000 car allowance / benefits

Description
We are looking to recruit an experienced NEBOSH qualified health & safety (SHEQ) manager to work for a telecoms infrastructure / service provider based in Oxfordshire.

It is assumed that you have prior health and safety management experience from within either the telecoms, or general utilities industry and must possess NRSWA knowledge along with ideally, a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.

It is essential that you have experience imposing Health & Safety across a multi-site network build (Civils, excavation and reinstatement) environment and while exposure to the telecoms (Fibre in the ground) industry would certainly be an advantage, if you have experience working across multiple sites within general utilities civils then we are happy to hear from you.

You will implement a number of processes into the business and ensure that they are fully compliant with current legislation and will be tasked with the implementation and documentation of H&S policy across this business region.

You will be tasked with reviewing and implementing H&S process for a region of civils gangs and supervisors, both in house and through contract partners and this work will be across a number of Southern counties customers. The role requires somebody with strong communication and change management skills who can use the correct blend of tact and persuasiveness to ensure this fast moving, KPI driven business reaches targets within a safe and efficient environment.

For this role it is preferable that you hold the New Roads and Streets Works Act (NRSWA). If you don't currently hold this you will have to be flexible to go on a course to gain this necessary qualification.

The Role

-To manage the interface on all health, safety and environmental matters linked to the delivery of a fibre network and to ensure that risks are controlled, monitored and mitigated as far as reasonably practicable.

- Hold the New Roads and Streets Works Act (NRSWA), or willing to gain it.

- NEBOSH, CMIOSH or similar recognised qualification with experience.

-To ensure that advice and support provided, helps to improve service delivery, maintaining a strong internal customer focus in support of operational teams.

-To provide support on all health, safety, quality and environmental aspects of all group activities.

-Ensure that managers and employees are aware of and adhere to their health, safety and environmental responsibilities.

-You are responsible for developing the Health, Safety and Environmental risk management strategy and ensuring effective implementation of the risk management plan.

-Ensure that the company's policies and procedures relating to health, safety and environmental matters are adhered to at all times and appropriate audit mechanisms are in place to monitor against these disciplines.

-Prepare and present reports, information and statistics on health and safety and environmental matters and attend board, committee and other meetings as required.

- Assist with the preparation and delivery of training in relation to company H&S policy.

- Line management of senior civils supervisors.

Position offers car allowance, 25 days holiday, pension and will be employed on a permanent PAYE basis.

This is one of the fastest growing technology infrastructure companies in the UK and as such, the opportunity to both influence the SHEQ function, alongside progressing into senior management positions in the future.
