HV Project Manager

£45 - 50k potentially higher for the ideal candidate, Company Car (Audi, BMW, Mercedes) plus up to 8% bonus, excellent pension, private health, 36 days holiday, share scheme, cycle to work, plus extras.

The Opportunity

Are you currently involved in switchgear, substation or transformer new connections, modification and upgrades? Do you supervise small/medium or large projects or coordinate with the client on install, modification and upgrades on their private or public networks? If so, I have a wonderful opportunity to work for a global specialist in energy management, a multibillion pound company, voted one of the top 25 companies to work for worldwide. You'll be tasked with the delivery of maintenance, modification and upgrade projects to our client's networks around the south of England. You'll focus in on transformers, switchgear and electrical distribution equipment raging from £5k to eventually up to £5m project values. This role is 80% office based and 20% out meeting with customers covering the southern region. Potential colleagues of yours already managing projects of a similar nature and you'll join a department of 3. You'll be given all the resources and will be representing a global player in energy management, delivering Projects from start to finish within time and budget at LV to HV level with plenty opportunity to progress and develop.

The Role:

You're role will be to look after the delivery of projects relating to, modifications, install and upgrade projects on the network to our clients existing and new sites across the South of England, predominantly the South East. You'll work out of the Potters Bar office and will probably be 80% based from the office and 20% out in the field. Project values will be between small £5k jobs and 5m more complex larger jobs, and naturally you'll be running several projects concurrently at any one time. The work will involve the maintenance or modification of transformers, electrical distribution equipment and switchgear. If you have been hands on the tools, and have developed into a team leader or supervisor taking a more of a client facing and delivery focussed role, this could be your route into project management.

You'll cover everything from initiation, planning, execution, controlling and closing of customer projects and maintenance plans. So if you're used to dealing with a project schedule and ensuring you meet customer expectations you'd be great. You'll attend an initial kick off meeting, discuss the technical requirements, bill of materials, you'll then lead the project, ensuring the relevant teams complete the work as and when required and handle any variations requested from the customer.

You'll finally provide the project aftercare to the customer including financial reconciliation, verifying job completion in line with specification, pass over training support and maintain contact as things move forwards to ensure all is well with the job. These projects will be all based on projects for DNO and Private Network Owners UK wide.

Responsibilities:

You'll be used to working in Electrical Distribution, with HV substation exposure and knowledge, you might already be a Supervisor wanting to come inside, or Delivery Manager wanting to step up or a Junior Project Manager, Contract Manager or fully fledged Project Manager looking to try something different. As long as you're decent from a customer perspective and have experience in LV and HV Power Networks and or transformers, were interested in hearing from you.

You'll always be looking for improvements and to continue the excellent reputation of the client, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction (internal & external) resulting in business growth in our targeted areas.

Naturally this role requires someone who is a great communicator and can utilize the team around them to you'll be good at collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, to get the job done.

Experience:

-HV Install/New Connections or Modification or Maintenance Experience
-Exposure to working on Public or Private Networks
-Engineering qualification
-Project Delivery experience, service, maintenance, install, retrofit on electrical distribution equipment
