The Opportunity:

Operations / Maintenance Manager (Power, Process, Electrical) required for our client who are one of the world's largest and most established organisations. The Operations / Maintenance Manager (Power, Process, Electrical) is to be involved in the senior management of a new facility so this is an opportunity for an established professional to come in to a new project right at the start, be involved in all the recruitment of the new facility and forge a strong career.

With all the potential financial aspects, this can be worth over £68k per annum with additional benefits.

As this role is specifically niche, we would offer a relocation package to any candidate who is successful and would have to relocate.

The Role:

The Operations / Maintenance Manager (Power, Process, Electrical) is to be involved in the senior management for all aspects of a new Energy Recovery Facility. For the Operations / Maintenance Manager (Power, Process, Plant) you must have strong overall management skill as you will have a team of 24 multi skilled engineer in your team (mechanical and electrical predominantly).

You will be responsible for budgets and recruitment / training and you will come from a background such as a power plant, energy recovery plant, process industry, biomass, power or something similar to understand the processes in this new facility.

Responsibilities:

* Full responsibility for setting and achieving Energy Recovery Facility maintenance cost budget (materials, contractors and staff).
* Management of a multi-skilled engineering team
* The potential to still be hands on when needed
* Collaborative responsibility with Facility Manager for operational and overhead costs, availability and energy sales budgets, QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment) and associated targets.
* induction for all staff and visitors.
* Majority of ERF staff report directly or indirectly to this role.
* Responsible for recruitment, selection, training, disciplinary, grievance and welfare matters.


The Person:

For the Operations / Maintenance Manager (Power, Process, Electrical), we are looking for somebody who comes from an engineering background and has worked their way up to management level to a strong level. You will have preferably have done this in power or within a power station, although people from a technical forces background - like the Navy - have proven successful in the past.

As you are to be within a fairly small and very technical team, there may still be elements of hands on aspects of this role.

* Some formal leadership, H&S (Health and Safety) & environmental qualifications would be advantageous.
* WAMITAB (Waste Management Industry Training & Advisory Board) and COTC (Certificate of Technical Competence) holder.
* Appropriate level of practical experience of the operation and maintenance of heavy process plant, preferably with additional exposure to electrical and C&I elements.
* Demonstrable experience of successful leadership and direction of internal and external technical resources, including major engineering contracts.
* Ability to work well under pressure within a small multi-disciplinary team.
