The Role
This role will require the chosen candidate to utilise their technical, statistical and process improvement knowledge and experience to assist with the safe and efficient production of the company's product. Through using process improvement techniques and analytical thinking it is expected you will make changes to the production line that will improve quality, reduce cost, increase efficiency and help to further educate members of the line.
The role of the process improvement manager will require you to take ownership of an area of the manufacturing floor and improve line performance by carrying out root cause analysis, finding solutions and then implementing a number of new process which have been rationally created and process mapped through a series of trial and experiment's. In this role you will use statistical software (Minitab) to analyse the results of experiments performed to find improvements and when identifying successful new methods further process map them so they can be implemented into production. You will be required to present your findings to internal customers and stakeholders and then take on recommendations to refine the new processes. You will have to create documentation including Capex statements explaining the financial justification for suggestions.
You will train, coach mentor and manage two process technicians.

The Candidate

We are looking for candidates who have worked with continuous process improvement and lean manufacturing techniques for a number of years. We are looking for candidates who are trained and experienced in a variety of continuous improvement methodologies such as Kaizan, Six Sigma, and 5's. We are looking for candidates who are degree educated in production or engineering or have equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment or Production or working for large FMCG, aerospace, automotive, packaging, company.
We are looking for candidates who are able to demonstrate how they have implemented new processes which have made a real difference to their respective business and are also able to explain fully how these processes were conceived. We are looking for managers who drive performance are results focused and lean experts.
We are looking for candidates who are natural problem solvers who are able to get to the root cause of any issues and are proactive in finding solutions. The ideal candidate for this role will be methodical and have a good understanding of how to use statistical software such as minilab to analyse where problems in the line are being generated from. We are looking for candidates who can trouble shoot equipment/process problems to root cause (using lean techniques) in conjunction with team members to ensure rapid resolution / learning of problems.
Provide necessary support to a continuous operation as needed and respond to out of hours calls when required.
Takes ownership and fully participates in the development and implementation of process improvement programmes on site. Uses skills in basic 6 sigma, SPC (inc. capability studies and basic use of minitab) and process mapping to aid process improvement
