Telford
£32-34K (possibly more for the perfect candidate) + bonus up to 8% + 25 days holiday + Excellent Pension + Private health + Mon-Fri 9am-5pm

The background of the candidate were looking to attract is an engineer, or fitter, lineman or technician, with a strong electrical technical background working with higher voltage switchgear, distribution equipment, transformers, Lv - 33kv in a substation, industrial manufacturing, windfarms, overhead lines environment, then were keen to speak with you.

Most of the abo0ve roles do require field based work and frequent travel, this role is ideal for a set place of work Mon - Friday 9-5pm position on one site, and you'll be given thousands of pounds work of training, development and massive progression chances within a global business. The role

Your role will be to provide technical and application support to all internal and external customers, and engineers in the field of our clients all over the Uk and internationally on Lv-33Kv projects including installs retrofits, fault finding, commissioning, maintenance and modifications. You'll provide advice to new customers or existing clients looking at building power networks for the likes of NIE, North West Electrical, SSE and the National Grid. This support will cover both a broad range of MV (Lv - 33kv) equipment from switchgear, to relays, transformers and electrical distribution equipment. This is however not a hands on role, it's a shirt and tie office environment learning and developing your knowledge base with great internal progression chances into senior engineering and management. You will get to work in a lab based environment doing testing and getting involved in R&D of new products coming out in the range, our customer are always trying to stay ahead of the competition.

Full training is provided in this role, you are not expected to be ready to come in on day one and start on this role, what they do what to tap into however is your hands on technical knowledge. This will not be a quick process, and you'll still find yourself training and developing 12-18 months into the role. The initial training programme is quite intense and will last for a period of at least 3 months before you are promoted into the support department and then your learning really commences. An example of someone who we placed a year ago in this role has already gone on to complete his level 4 qualification all paid for by our client and said the training is truly second to none and he is looking at stepping up the ladder over the coming 12-24 months.

This role will require you to provide the highest levels of customer care at all times and be able to communicate technical issues and solutions to non-technical individuals. If you therefore sometimes feel as if you are doing your job with your eyes closed, or could explain to someone not on your site how to complete a similar task, that's how this role effectively works.

This is ideal for someone who is looking at cutting down travel and being based in cutting edge offices with real progression opportunities in a static working environment.

The candidate

Candidates for this role will need to be educated to ideally a HNC level or above and/or have served an equivalent apprenticeship electrically, C&G or NVQ level 3 is the kind of level we want you to have worked towards. Candidates should have some experience of MV (Lv- 33kv) equipment, including some or all of Switchgear, transformers and electrical distribution equipment, but if you have worked at 11kv we can still consider you.

This is important as you will need to explain and assist with problems and advice relating to these areas. Suitable candidates may have worked previously as maintenance engineers, field engineers, fitters, switchgear, lineman, technicians, AP's and are now looking to move inside to a role which offers extensive development and progression.

Candidates will need to enjoy creating relationships with customers and engineers alike. Candidates should be well organised with time management skills and have good all round I.T. skills, including all Microsoft packages.

Qualifications

C&G/NVQ Level 3/HNC - Electrical Qualifications or equivalent
Lv - 33Kv hands on experience
Full UK Driving Licence
