Electrical technical support

Telford

£33000 + bonus, overtime, pension, private health and holidays.

The job

You will be speaking with customers over the phone who have bought or are looking to buy a range of industrial control products, PLC's, sensors, , breakers and power meters and now need some help in to how to set them up and use them. You will be speaking and advising the client's engineers, advising them on product choices which best fit their needs.
You will also provide technical assistance to your colleagues (Field engineers) why they on site with information and advice on installations, upgrades and servicing of these products. You will be helping to troubleshoot and fault find and remedy a range of problems to ensure the customer and engineers have the upmost support when they need it. Finally you will be trained and developed to be one of the companies experts, and go to persons in regards to industrial control products.

You will work in a very modern office with Mike, Daryl, Liam and the rest of the team. Everyone really likes working for the company and gets on well. They are all straight talkers who really have a passion and enthusiasm for the work they do. Full training is provided in this role but you will need experience with these products with which you will be supporting. The training programme is quite intense and will last for a period of at least 3 months before you are promoted into the support department. The training may involve spending time at different location in the South East for weeks at a time until you are fully up to speed so flexibility in the early stages of this role will be paramount.

The Candidate

Candidates should have some experience of PLC's and associated applications and have ideally have previously worked with distribution equipment, variable speed drives, or automated machinery previously. Candidates for this role will need to be educated to ideally a HNC level or above and/or have served an equivalent apprenticeship. You will provide technical support to customers in relation to fault finding and commissioning of their industrial electrical/electronic products including PLC's. Suitable candidates may have worked previously as maintenance engineers, field engineers and are now looking to move inside to a role which offers extensive development and progression. Candidates will need to enjoy creating relationships with customers and providing support to a range of external and internal clients as well as site engineers. Candidates should be well organised with time management skills and have well all round I.T. skills, including all Microsoft packages.
The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who has very good communication and is able to speak both technically and in layman's terms depending on who it is they are providing support for.
