Job Purpose:
The role of the Wastewater Network Engineer is to provide support on aspects of the foul and surface water network within private (Army Garrisons) and statutory areas across Salisbury Plain and at Aldershot, as part of commercial contracts operated on behalf of the Ministry of Defence. Based primarily in Tidworth, Wiltshire the job will require travel to Aldershot and Warminster (car provided)

Key Responsibilities for the role
The Wastewater Network Engineer will be responsible for;

*Working on site with contractors and clients to investigate and facilitate action for day-to-day issues such as sewer blockages, damaged network, often within tight contractual deadlines
*Investigating and producing engineering solutions to deal with commercial client requests for - e.g. new buildings/assets, network decommissioning, upsizing, etc.
*Reviewing network designs
*Execute a maintenance programme for network assets including CCTV surveying, inspecting and cleaning road gullies, OWIs and silt traps
*Producing and reviewing Safe Systems of Works
*Assist also, where required, with Operational teams
*Work closely with management to improve/suggest improvements to make processes/procedures more efficient
*To undertake technical appraisals of handover documentation, site inspections, witness all appropriate air and water tests and approve new works in relation to S104 Adoption applications, building over sewers and new sewer connections
*To be a key contact between in the multi-level supply chain

The Candidate
The ideal Wastewater Network Engineer will have

Essential
*Experienced wastewater network engineer with proven on-site experience.
*Strong understanding of wastewater network construction, operation and maintenance
*Experience of wastewater treatment processes and equipment desirable, but not essential
*Working knowledge of 'Sewers for Adoption' code of practice
*In depth GIS knowledge and experience essential
*Good IT skills (word, excel, PDF-Pro, outlook, etc.)
*Full UK driving licence
*Good communication skills
*Obtain MOD security clearance
*Work effectively as part of a team and the ability to work alone, when required
*Build good working relationships with other teams/team members, clients and contractors
*Take ownership of assets/operations, working with minimal supervision and using own initiative
*The position is within a small team and requires a very flexible attitude

Desirable
*A suitable engineering degree or NVQ/diploma plus experience
*Experience of working in a commercial contract environment
*IOSH
*Confined Spaces qualified NC4
*Proven CPD record
