Job Summary

The Role As a Power Systems Engineer working for a leading national communications company you will be responsible for ensuring that the power infrastructure system is designed and planned to the set out architectural standards and meets the customers requirements. You will also be responsible for the technical design, specific engineering, planning and implementation of the power systems technical infrastructure.

Power Systems Design Engineer
£28,000 - £36,000 + 5% Bonus + Benefits including 25 days holiday + Healthcare + Flexible Benefits including pension, childcare vouchers and many more


The Role
As a Power Systems Engineer working for a leading national communications company you will be responsible for ensuring that the power infrastructure system is designed and planned to the set out architectural standards and meets the customers requirements. You will also be responsible for the technical design, specific engineering, planning and implementation of the power systems technical infrastructure. You will be working in a team and will be involved with the following duties:

*Owning designs and providing assistance to the design/build issues
*Reviewing high level design proposals
*Technically supporting project managers
*Acting as a Design Authority to ensure that the designs are in line with architectural, commercial and specific design requirements
*Translating high level designs into low level designs
*Preparing specifications for larger complex systems
*Owning and managing solutions throughout the design process
*Ensure that your technical and product knowledge is maintained and developed

The Role
As a Power Systems Engineer you will have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role working on electrical projects in the critical infrastructure industry such as Airports and Railways where power systems are critical. You will have experience within a LV electrical power systems environment either in an operational, design or project area and will have working knowledge of the typical components and infrastructure used for ELV and LV systems. You will have experience and an understanding of key design methodology phases and electrical principals with the ability to put the theory into practice. You will also have experience of generators, un-interruptible power supplies, switchgear. You will be educated to degree or HND level in Electrical Engineering or similar and will hold a City & Guilds Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Verification of Electrical Installations - C & G 2391. An understanding of PLC systems, ventilation and environmental systems would be highly advantageous.

The Package
