Telford

The opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for an electrical maintenance engineer to join a company who have been voted one of the top 50 companies in the world to work for. If you have a background in electrical maintenance with strong electrical maintenance skills and an understanding of electrical PLC's with exposure to electrical maintenance including fault finding and modifications please apply. You will also need excellent customer facing skills alongside the electrical maintenance experience. Previous engineers within this organisation have progressed to senior management and director level roles.

The role.

Your role will be to provide technical support to field engineers and client customers. Full training is provided in this role but you will need strong electrical skills ideally from a manufacturing background. The training programme is quite intense and will last for a period of at least 3 months before you are promoted into the support department, where you will receive an increase in salary.
You will provide technical support to customers in relation to fault finding and commissioning of their industrial electrical/electronic products. You will liaise with the product teams, after-sales, marketing and the call centre to resolve any new or outstanding issues.
This role will require you to provide the highest levels of customer care at all times and be able to communicate technical issues and solutions to non-technical individuals.
You will be required to provide Pre-sales technical support to customers on Industrial control product ranges, detection products and PLC and Software products.
This role will require you to provide advanced technical support on the following Variable speed drives, Automation products and LV, MV and HV Distribution products. You will monitor frequently asked questions so these can be added to a website and database.
You will speak with customers and log there requirements which will then be forwarded onto a sales department. You will be required to escalate any advanced issues to 2nd and 3rd line support. At times you will be required to visit client sites to further investigate client requirements and continue to build relationships.

The candidate

Candidates for this role will need to be educated to ideally a HNC level or above and/or have served an equivalent apprenticeship. Candidates should ideally have some experience of PLC fault finding, modification, or programming although really strong electrical skills and excellent customer skills are the key components for progression. Previous experience with variable speed drives, and automated machinery would also be warmly received. Suitable candidates may have worked previously as electrical maintenance engineers or field engineers or building small machinery and are now looking to move inside to a role which offers extensive development and progression. Candidates will need to enjoy creating relationships with customers and providing support to a range of external and internal clients as well as site engineers. Candidates should be well organised with time management skills and have good all round I.T. skills, including all Microsoft packages.
The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who has very good communication and is able to speak both technically and in layman's terms depending on who it is they are providing support for.
