Job Description

Job Title: Component Engineer
Location: Worthing
Salary: £35k - £40k plus great benefits

The Opportunity
We make products that rock the world, without giving it a hangover afterwards!

We're looking for a new Component Engineer to make sure we stay at the top of our game whilst not falling foul of component and environment legislation.

The Role
As our new Component Engineer you will work within a world-leading R&D team supporting the design and manufacture of industrial process instrumentation and systems. You'll do this by evaluating the products and their components used in our designs to ensure they fall within compliance regulations such as RoHS and REACH.

Reporting into the Approvals Manager and being a valued part of the R&D team as the Component Engineer you will be responsible for regularly updating and monitoring our approved component list and managing component obsolescence. It's essential that we constantly comply with the most up to date RoHS, REACH and WEEE directives and are aware of additional conflict materials so you need to stay on top of these, informing the rest of the team where changes apply.

You'll also investigate any quality or compliance issues raised by the R&D, manufacturing or project teams and actively look for ways to continuously improve analysis and reporting procedures.

The Candidate
If you are an Electronic Engineer with components, test or R&D experience we'd like to hear from you!

To help you hit the ground running you will need a background in working to RoHS, REACH and WEEE legislation and a good understanding about component specifications and approval.
Alongside that, because you will be working within a team environment and advising the R&D Engineers we are looking for a strong communicator who will enjoy that sort of environment. In the Component Engineer role you'll have the scope to challenge the team and use your initiative to suggest more viable or compliant materials so you need to use your negotiation skills to your advantage.

The Company
We are one of the world's largest energy management companies and believe in providing accessible, reliable and sustainable power for everyone. As an employer we want you to be proud that you work for us and, in return, we'll give you something to be proud of including structured career progression and training opportunities.

Working from our Worthing office you'll join our environmental and process control and measurement system division, a separate arm producing a specific product range different to anything else we make. We're a big company with a small company feel so you'll get to know us all pretty well, we think that's a good thing!

Can't wait to have you join our team! Click "apply" now!
