The role,

The role of the building supervisor is to communicate, direct and advise internal teams and external contractors who are on site to complete various maintenance and restoration work to buildings including business promises, residential properties, workshops, garages and gardens. You will be required to schedule and allocate when work by the internal teams and external contractors can be competed and oversea minor projects and reactive works. You will be responsible for checking the work to ensure that it has been completed to the necessary quality standards while adhering to current building legislation, standards and statutory compliance. You will be responsible for monitoring the progress of all the works to ensure it is completed on time and budget and report any major problems or irregularities to the relevant parties.
You will promote a culture of risk awareness and make sure that all internal teams and external contractors are fully aware of all the polices of safe practice they must abide by.
You will keep up to date records of all the work that is completed. You will take an active part in seeking out quotes for materials and then placing orders and handling the issues related to procurement.
You will also be responsible for reporting to various stakeholders in meetings or via email or the phone. You will provide updates progress reports of where necessary to various levels of the organisation.

The Candidate,

* Possess a City and Guilds or NVQ qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, and have substantial property experience gained in an environment of occupied spaces. Experience of working on multi-site estates and with historic / listed buildings would be a real advantage.

*Proven supervisory skills demonstrated through the supervision of in-house teams and contractor relationships

*Extensive experience in establishing and maintaining good stakeholder/customer relationships, with excellent communication skills and an approachable 'can-do' attitude


*The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across functional and geographical boundaries, where flexibility and a 'can do' approach to teamwork is essential

*Genuinely passionate about and familiar with a customer-driven approach to the delivery of maintenance services, with a rigorous approach to standards of internal customer service and continuous improvement

*Organised, self motivated and flexible. Able to manage time effectively to achieve tight programmes, prioritise workloads and adapt to changing circumstances

*A proven ability to identify problems, understand key issues and investigate alternatives

*IT literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office.

*You will need to be security cleared before beginning work.
