Job Title: HR Adviser (Liverpool)
Salary: £27,069
Fixed Term Contract until 30/09/2019

The Role:
As the HR Adviser you will be carrying out a HR support role based in Liverpool, and reporting to the HR Business Partner. A full generalist HR Advisory role, focusing on providing comprehensive HR advice and coaching to managers at all levels on casework and all employment issues. Supervision of a team of 3 payroll co-ordinators will be included in this role. The main duties will include:

· Advising managers on recruitment and selection issues, including the development of job descriptions and campaign planning. Ensuring consistency of approach and compliance with, and alignment to, Civil Service Recruitment Code Principles
· Delivering a full HR advisory service for manager and staff on a full range of employment matters including absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance and other related employee relations matters
· Providing support to managers in addressing and resolving poor attendance issues. Conducting review meetings and rehabilitation planning
· Participating in HR projects, including policy development, change management programmes and working groups as required
· Supporting the Head of Learning and Development through assisting in the development and delivery of training events/workshops on areas of HR best practice
· Building and maintaining relationships with business managers and union representatives and attending management briefings


The Candidate:
Previous generalist HR Adviser experience with up-to-date knowledge of employment law is essential. CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification, or equivalent, is preferable. The successful HR Adviser must be able to demonstrate recent experience of providing pragmatic HR advice to managers on a range of HR issues and civil service recruitment practices. Experience of working within a unionised environment and the ability to work within a stand-alone HR role is required. The successful candidate will be subject to security vetting at (SC) clearance level so a DBS check must be completed.
