Job Title: Interim Operational/HR Manager; Assistant Director (HMP) - (Preston/Leyland)
Salary: £28.69 per hour (Equivalent salary of £52,215)
Interim contract until March 2018

The Role:
As the Operational Manager/Assistant Director/HR Director you will be have overall responsibility for the day to day performance management for the clinical teams within the portfolio of Health and Justice within a HMP organisation. Based in Leyland you will represent the Trust externally and develop working relationships with key stakeholders. The main duties will include:

· Lead, manage and motivate staff to maintain the highest level of morale and ensure high standards are met
· Identifying training and development needs of staff and ensure these needs are met
· Undertaking annual appraisals for own direct reports and ensure staff management arrangements are consistent with HR policies
· Lead and manage the portfolio to ensure effective governance and safeguarding systems are followed and working in close conjunction with the Chief Nurse and Governance team
· Ensuring appropriate clinical governance structures and processes are adhered to at all levels
· Ensure effective budgetary control operates through the portfolio and implement any remedial actions required


The Candidate:
Previous Operational Management/HR Management of multiple and diverse clinical services within a prison (HMP) environment is essential. The successful interim Assistant Director/Operational/HR Manager must be able to demonstrate recent experience of budget management, HR and workforce planning, change management and stakeholder management. Experience of working within a HMP environment is a pre-requisite. The successful candidate will be subject to security vetting so a DBS check must be completed.
