Office based Bath
Paying £30-£35k depending on experience plus benefits

The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to work as a network planner for an up and coming SME who are laying their own ultrafast fibre-optic network. Due to excellent customer uptake and a state-of-the-art product unrivaled in the area, they are experiencing rapid growth and prosperity. The network planner will join a small team of current fibre planners where they will take responsibility for the design of network infrastructure for customers across Bath and Bristol and the South West as a whole. If you come from a fibre network planner background we would be keen to speak with you about this role.

The Role
The Network planner will be working from a site based just outside Bath alongside a small team you will be responsible for assisting and the planning and design of complex fibre network infrastructure for rural areas based around the South West. Using a GIS systems you will plan where fibre will be laid in the ground, overhead (pole) and civil route planning, taking into account wayleave issues or obstructions that could prevent the smooth running of the installs. You will provide advice and guidance to commercial and project teams on the characteristics and specifications of optical fibre and equipment used to meet project requirements

The Candidate
The ideal Network Planner will have

*Previous experience working in telecommunications in an infrastructure planning capacity
*Fibre Network Architecture- ideally FTTH and other Carrier Networks
*Full Understanding of Fibre Allocations and Drops
*Detailed understanding of all aspects of overhead (pole) and civil route planning using different methodologies
*Ability to identify engineering risks and associated solutions.
*Ability to survey, plan , fit for construction, external and internal networks.
*Knowledge of GIS software
*Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation and Responsibilities under CDM
*Knowledge and understanding of NRSWA
*Good understanding of wayleaves
*Able to work with multiple departments and interact with Operations , Engineering and Sales
*Excellent Interpersonal Skills with the ability to interact effectively with all personnel, vendors and customers
*Strong Communication skills

Hours of Work
37.5hrs a week
Maternity Cover

The Package
Paying £30-£35K depending on experience
Annual bonus scheme which will be based on the achievement of personal and company objectives.
Contributory pension scheme
25 days holiday and 8 statutory holidays per year
