Our client is a national communications company. We are looking to recruit a number of telecoms field operations managers, based in the West Midlands region. We would be looking to base these roles in Birmingham, or perhaps Wolverhampton and surrounding areas.


Job Description

Our client is a national communications company. We are looking to recruit a number of telecoms field operations managers, based in the West Midlands region. We would be looking to base these roles in Birmingham, or perhaps Wolverhampton and surrounding areas.

We are looking to recruit an experienced field manager to lead a team of 14 in house field and service engineers, along with the indirect management of 10-15 sub contractors. These engineers will be working with residential field operations in the telecommunications industry and key skills we are looking for would be previous field operations management (Essential), along with detailed management information skills and the ability to work within a KPI driven environment.

You should have excellent time management skills, detailed leadership and development skills along with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel regarding the reporting and forecasting aspect of the position.

Key Responsibilities:

* Management of a quality installation and fault repair service across the designated area, ensuring that the in-house team and external contract partners are delivering an excellent customer experience within agreed SLAs and performance standards.

* Direct line management of a team of Access Field Technicians (and QA where
applicable)

* Management of the relationship with the local contract partner(s) to ensure delivery of the agreed quantity of installs, according to agreed capacity and resource commitment and in line with relevant processes and operating procedures.

* Promotion of a quality approach to installations and
fault repair through effective team management and influence on external contract partner

* Carrying out the required volume and spread of quality audits; in person and
via the Principal Field Technician and / or Quality Auditor; Ensuring all activities are completed to our specification and that the integrity of our network is maintained.

* Delivery of operational performance in line with agreed SLA/KPI's.

* Maintaining an awareness of jobs that have failed, investigating the
underlying reasons and putting in place actions to ensure effective resolution

* Effective relationship management with other functions within the Region and
in the wider business. Builds and maintains close working relationships to manage customer-affecting issues to resolution and ensure consistency in the customer experience.

* Ensuring in-house and contract employees demonstrate compliance with Health
& Safety management standards at all times, identifying and ensuring the delivery where appropriate of any training required for Health & Safety and Environment and NRSWA.

* Ensure that all in house technicians have a monthly 1 to 1 as part of the
Reach scheme, and that each has an agreed accreditation rating each month

* Implementation of all business policies and ensure all activities are
carried out in line with the Company Standard Operating Environment

* Ensuring all colleagues have an up to date awareness of performance
management KPIs and can use Company processes, procedures, systems and
services appropriately

* Demonstration of an understanding of workload forecasts to ensure best use
of available colleagues to meet anticipated workload

* Management of the operation within budget guidelines and contribution to the
budget forecast process

Job Specific Qualifications and Experience:

* Good analytical skills, and competent in the use of Microsoft packages at
'intermediate' level

* Able to work in a high pressure environment; with the ability to offer
solutions as well as identify problems

* Full clean driving licence required

* Able to lead, motivate and develop a team of field technicians/engineers

* Excellent customer focus required - previous experience of working in the field operations
environment

* Understands budget and finance management

This is a permanent position and would involve a company vehicle, private healthcare, pension, 25 days holiday and working week is 5 days from 6, Monday through Saturday. You should hold a driving license with less than 6 penalty points.
