JOB TITLE: 3rd LINE PROJECT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN (ACTIVE DIRECTORY, MS SERVER)

LOCATION: BLACKBURN

PACKAGE: £30-40K PLUS BENEFITS

The Role

We are looking to recruit a Microsoft bias support technician to deal with typical 3rd line queries in a Microsoft desktop and server environment. You`ll be an all-rounder with knowledge of Windows Server, active directory and assumed TCP/IP based networking knowledge.

This is a manufacturing company and a number of exciting migration projects are planned which will involve the move from legacy systems to cutting edge solutions.

The opportunity gives the chance to be involved in both senior level day to day operational support but also play a key part on the project team that will be tasked with leading the migrations.

An initial project will involve the move from the legacy ERP system to a cutting edge solution so any ERP migration experience is classed as a bonus, but is not essential.

Technical Requirements

Essential Skills
*Solid, 3rd line skills within a Microsoft bias technical support environment
*Windows Server Administration
*Active Directory
*Microsoft Exchange
*Good understanding of TCP/IP Networking
*Support skills in Windows XP/7 & 8
*MS Office based applications
*ERP environment support experience
*Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to interact with people at all levels of the business.
*Experience in a hardware Break/Fix and Software environment
*Excellent organisational skills, capable of prioritising workloads


Desirable Skills
*SAGE 500 ERP migration to SAGE 1000 ERP experience
*IT Support within a manufacturing and distribution environment

Responsibilities

* All round technical support for day to day operations along with specific project support.
* To act as ICT ambassador for the department locally.
* Liaise with 3rd party vendors or internal specialist teams to ensure a speedy resolution of issues/requests.
* Become involved in projects to transform and improve the business solutions provided as required.
* Display a working understanding of the business environment, and appreciation of the business applications.
* Participation in the Out of Hours rota for Out of Hours support when required
