Infrastructure Engineer
Cambridge
£30,000 - £35,000 (dependent on experience) + Excellent Benefits including 25 days holiday, flexible hours, annual bonus scheme, regular subsidised social events and more

The Role
We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer working for a leading IT, communications and technology company in the European energy markets. Working in their spacious modern offices in Cambridge, you will be part of a team responsible for the company's systems and critical network infrastructure. This includes a wide variety of hardware, software, virtualisation, and network communications technologies.

As an Infrastructure Engineer you will be involved in the full lifecycle of infrastructure and network provision, including design, implementation, maintenance and support. Working as part of a growing, dynamic and forward thinking technology company, the role has been created due to expansion and is a great opportunity for someone looking to join a friendly, small and highly technical IT team where you can have a real impact. The role includes providing on-call support on a weekly rota basis for our 24/7 operations team.

Who are you?
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to expand their role and learn and develop in a wide variety of technologies. You'll be passionate about technology and be looking to work in a diverse technical environment where you can really get stuck in. The role would suit someone with previous networking experience that's interested in learning more about Linux, Windows, & Systems Administration as well as networking. The role will be split roughly 25% networking, 50% systems admin and 25% support.

Essential experience:
*Minimum of 2 years' experience
*IPV4, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, FTP, TCP/IP
*Experience of network troubleshooting
*Firewalls/routers
*Ethernet switching - VLANs, trunking

Essential abilities:
*Logical approach to troubleshooting
*A quick learner and be keen to learn new technologies
*Enjoys working with and being part of a team
*Ability to self-manage workload

Other beneficial experience (not needed, but would be great if you have it!):
*Windows Server (2008 R2+)
*Linux
*Virtualisation (Hyper-V and VMWare)
*VoIP
*Intrusion detection systems
