Job Description

Field Operations Manager (Mobile Telecoms)
£35 - £40k + Car / allowance, Bonus, Pension
Surrey

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Field Operations Manager (Mobile Telecoms) to work for our client, a leading international supplier of cellular coverage systems. The role offers a chance to join an already established and highly regarded company in the cellular industry. Having experienced significant growth in recent years the company is committed to the development, progression and promotion prospects of its employees.

Overview

As a Field Operations Manager you will be responsible for driving customer experience along with the day to day management, coaching and development of around 8-12 field engineers. Although based out of the company's head office in Chertsey, these engineers will be working on sites across the UK completing the Installation, commission, testing and optimisation of in-building wireless systems. As per normal with this type of role, you`ll spend time in the field to coach, mentor and liaise with customers (UK Based) but will have the time management skills to know when you need to be in the office to deal with report writing / planning etc. Although the company specialise in distributed antennae systems & cellular technology, experience in this area isn't strictly essential as we're looking more for a KPI focussed people manager, so if you have come from a general telecoms / mobile telecoms background and can pick up specific technology as required, we would be interested in hearing from you.

Skills required:

*The key skills we are looking for would be prior management experience of working in a fast moving, multiple appointment KPI driven environment in either the telecoms or mobile telecoms industry.

*Experience of working with and leading remote reports with detailed management information / reporting skills.

*Knowledge of DAS or cellular in build solutions an advantage but a solid mobile industry overview or technical telecoms background will suffice.

*You should have excellent time management skills, and have the ability to coach and develop staff, allowing yourself to concentrate on performance improvement plans in the short, medium and long term.

*This ability to coach and improve senior reports and groom them to be the managers of the future is a key aspect of the position, so we would be looking to speak with managers who can demonstrate the ability to delegate responsibility to colleagues which then in turn allows the manager to concentrate on tasks that are more strategically important than day to day operational firefighting.

*This is a role for a leader, who is able to advise, guide and report to colleagues at different levels and we are looking for someone that is passionate about people both, staff and customers. People who can 'sell' a vision rather than 'tell' and who are driven with the desire to 'do the right thing'.

*You should have the experience and acumen to quickly understand the day to day operational running of a mobile team of field engineers, before looking to implement process which will bring greater efficiencies and ultimately, improve the general customer experience.

*Full driving license is required due to this role being mixture of field and office based.

The company:

Our client is a leading international supplier of in-building wireless coverage system design, installation and commissioning throughout the UK as well as globally. Already established and growing year on year, this company is committed to the growth and development of its employees.

The package:

£35 - £40k + Company car / allowance, Bonus Scheme, Pension, 25 days holiday.
