The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Radio Frequency Field Test / Configuration Engineer to work for our client, a leading international supplier of in-building wireless coverage system design, installation, commissioning, optimisation and servicing across the UK. The Role:

The RF Field Test / Configuration Engineer will have worked on the testing, fault finding and fixing, configuration and optimisation of RF in - building antennae equipment and will be well experienced in the concept of DAS and BTS.

You will have good communication skills as working in a team environment in the public domain this role is customer facing. We're looking for RF field Test / configuration engineers who are able to look at a problem, find the fault, and either configure and optimise the equipment, propose a solution and think of ways to actively reduce / avoid the problem in the future.

As an RF Field Test / Configuration Engineer you will liaise directly with a Senior Field engineer and although based out of the company's office in Chertsey, your remit will cover the UK. As such, you must be flexible with regards to working away from home and staying overnight on an ad hoc basis (all costs are fully expensed by the company).


Responsibilities:

*General field operations RF requirements
*Maintenance visits (reactive and pro-active)
*Fault identification and resolution
*Optimisation of RF antennae equipment
*Maintenance and identification of shortfalls in field test equipment
*Consider better or more innovative ways of completing engineering tasks.


Skills / Technical Capabilities:

*You will have experience of working in a Radio Frequency engineering field environment.
*You will be well experienced in the concept of DAS and BTS.
*You will be experienced in RF data analysis, for example if you have worked with systems such as TEMS, NEMO, ROMES, Actix, Map Info etc
*Experience of working with Radio Frequency specific tools such as Spectrum analyser, frequency scanners, CW transmitters, Cable testers etc.
*An understanding of fault rectification, Inbuilding RF designs and commissioning.
*Proficiency in use of general hand held tools (e.g. for the swapping/ installation of components)
*Understanding of wireless technologies would be advantageous including GSM, UMTS and LTE
*Knowledge of Wi-Fi, PMR/DMR, Wimax would also be an advantage.
*If you have worked with either 2G/3G/4G technologies this would be beneficial although not essential.
*Ability to report to within strict timescales.
*Ability to utilise resource efficiently and effectively to meet changing requirements.

*Competency with Microsoft packages, including Microsoft Visio
*Full driving licence required


Package:

*The role offers a salary of £24k-£28k plus benefits including vehicle and fuel, Bonus Scheme, Pension and 25 days holiday.
*The role is based at the company's office in Chertsey with a remit that covers the UK. Flexibility in working hours is a must as there is a requirement for overnight stays on an ad hoc basis.
