The Role
As a 1st/2nd line Desktop Support Engineer working for a leading IT, Communications and Technology Company you will be responsible for providing desktop support. You will be part of a dynamic and forward thinking technology company and will have previous experience in a support desk or helpdesk environment. This role has been created due to expansion and the company are offering the suitable candidate a fantastic opportunity to work with cutting edge technologies and progress through the business. You will be logging tickets, talking to customers, building rapport with them and also supporting the internal infrastructure of the company.

Essential requirements:
*Enjoys speaking to customers and building strong client relationships
*Enjoys working with and being part of a team
*Good communicator with the ability to clearly understand customer requirements
*Highly organised
*"Going the extra mile" to deliver timely fixes or updates for customers
*A quick learner and be keen to learn new technologies.
*Troubleshooting, owning, resolving cases and keeping the client informed

Preferable technical requirements:
*Previous support desk/helpdesk experience
*Office 365 administration
*SharePoint administration
*MS Office 2013 troubleshooting
*MS Server 2012 - Management and administration of group policies
*Administration of any of the following ; Hyper V, VMware or Citrix XenServer
*Active Directory management and administration
*Hands on experience with Windows 7, 8 and 8.1
*Dealing with 3rd party suppliers, owning and managing technical escalations

Other beneficial experience:
*Office 365 PowerShell Administration
*Basic knowledge of Macs
*Knowledge of networking, ideally to CCNA level
*Supporting VoIP phones, ideally Mitel or Broadsoft
*Microsoft certifications such as MCSE, MCITP
*Worked in an ITIL environment
*Worked for an ISP, MSP or Telecoms company

As a 1st/2nd Line Desktop Support Engineer you will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar support desk/helpdesk environment. You will be highly organised and will have outstanding communication skills and the ability to own and manage technical escalations. You will enjoy talking to customers and must also be able to demonstrate outstanding case management and customer support excellence. You will be ambitious, driven and enthusiastic and will be looking for an opportunity that allows you to expand your current skillset by working with leading technologies (e.g. Cisco/Juniper/Extreme/Mitel/Broadsoft/NetXplorer).
