The Role

As a 1st/2nd line Network Support Engineer working for a leading IT, Communications and Technology Company you will be responsible for providing 1st/2nd line network support. You will be part of a growing, dynamic and forward thinking technology company and will have previous experience in a support desk or helpdesk environment and ideally be from an ISP, MSP or Telecoms company. This role has been created due to expansion and the company are offering the suitable candidate a fantastic opportunity to work with cutting edge technologies and progress through the business. You will be CCNA certified and will be responsible for logging tickets, taking ownership of customer issues and ensuring these are resolved within SLAs.

Essential requirements:
*CCNA certified
*Network troubleshooting
*Bandwidth analysers
*IPV4, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, FTP, TCP/IP
*Ethernet switching - VLAN, 802.1Q trunking
*Wireless networking
*Dealing with 3rd party suppliers, owning and managing technical escalations
*Enjoys speaking to customers and building strong client relationships
*Enjoys working with and being part of a team
*Good communicator with the ability to clearly understand customer requirements
*Highly organised
*"Going the extra mile" to deliver timely fixes or updates for customers
*A quick learner and be keen to learn new technologies.
*Troubleshooting, owning, resolving cases and keeping the client informed

Other beneficial experience:
*Cisco/Extreme switches
*Experience working with IP phones
*Any voice platform experience (Mitel, Broadsoft, Call Manager etc)
*Previously worked for an ISP, MSP or Telecoms company

As a 1st/2nd Line Network Support Engineer you will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar support desk/helpdesk environment. You will be CCNA certified, highly organised and will have outstanding communication skills and the ability to own and manage technical escalations. You will enjoy talking to customers and must also be able to demonstrate outstanding case management and customer support excellence. You will be ambitious, driven and enthusiastic and will be looking for an opportunity that allows you to expand your current skillset by working with leading technologies (e.g.Juniper/Mitel/Broadsoft/NetXplorer). Candidates with strong networking experience with only some voice exposure will also be considered as long as the applicant shows a strong desire to learn.
