The Role

Please note the working hours for this role are 6:30am - 3pm Monday to Friday.

As a Desktop Support Engineer working for a leading IT managed services company, you will be responsible for providing desktop support in a financial company. You will be based on customer site and will be responsible for fulfilling scheduled on site commitments. You will have a broad range of desktop support skills gained in a demanding environment along with good customer facing and workload management skills. You will be working in a team and will be involved in the following duties:

*Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction is maintained and all KPI's and SLA's are achieved
*Perform as a 1st/2nd line engineer for remote and on site fixes
*Liaise with third line engineers when escalation is necessary
*Manage system installations, hardware and software upgrades
*Take part in Business Continuity Planning, implementation and testing
*Coordinate with third parties for support, installation and maintenance
*Support users in the use of Microsoft Office software
*Implement software upgrades and installs as required
*Maintain procedures and system documentation

It is essential you have experience with:

*Windows XP/7 installation and configuration
*Market Data applications such as Bloomberg, Fidessa and Eikon
*Understanding of ITIL framework and related processes
*Managed third party vendor relationships
*All versions of Microsoft Office
*Windows Server 2003/2008
*Microsoft Exchange
*Active Directory
*Mobile devices including Blackberry, Apple products and mobile devices
*VMWare
*Citrix
*Remote connectivity tools such as Dameware, Citrix Go To Assist and RDP

It is desirable you have experience of:
*Experience of working in an outsourced environment
*Avaya
*SCCM
*Factset
*Cisco
*Juniper
*Sharepoint
*Cloud / virtual computing
*Any certifications such as MCSA or ITIL are also highly advantageous.

The Requirements
As a Desktop Support Engineer you will be familiar with IPhone, IPads and Blackberrys and will have experience of supporting Market Data applications such as Bloomberg, Factset and Eikon. You will have the ability to work well under pressure and will be an excellent communicator both verbally and written.
