Junior Desktop Engineer
£22,000 - £25,000 + Excellent Benefits including 24 day holiday and pension

Please note the shifts for this role are 7.30am - 4pm or 10am - 6.30pm

The Opportunity
This role is offering the right candidate the opportunity to work in a team supporting a variety of different customers on a day to day basis and progress through the business.

The Role
As a Junior Desktop Engineer working for a leading IT managed service company you will be responsible for supporting the service desk , providing 1st/2nd line support remotely and on customer site and will also be involved in projects. This role suits someone with 12 - 18 months experience with a keenness to learn and develop in a company. You will have a broad range of 1st/2nd line skills gained in a demanding environment. The role requires good customer facing skills and workload management. You will also be involved in the following duties:

*Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction is maintained, ensure all KPI's and SLA's are achieved
*Perform as a first / second line engineer for remote and on site fixes
*Liaise with third line engineers when escalation is necessary
*Manage system installations, hardware and software upgrades
*Handle incidents and service requests in a timely manner
*Coordinate with third parties for support, installation and maintenance
*Support users in the use of Microsoft Office software
*Implement software upgrades and installs as required
*Maintain procedures and system documentation

The Requirements
As a Junior Desktop Engineer you will have at least 12 months commercial experience, ideally from a managed service provider although not essential. Any understanding of ITIL and related processes is highly beneficial. You will be keen to learn, enthusiastic and be looking to develop within the business. You will have the following technical experience:

*Windows XP/7
*All versions of Microsoft Office
*Windows Server 2003/2008
*Microsoft Exchange
*Active Directory
*Mobile devices including Blackberry, Apple products and mobile devices
*Remote connectivity tools such as Dameware, Citrix Go To Assist and RDP

*Any knowledge of Cloud / virtual computing
*Certifications such as MCSA/ITIL/MCSE
