The Role

As a Software Support Analyst working for a leading IT, Communications and Technology company you will be responsible for working with the technical support groups, acting as an internal and customer interface to bridge the gap between software development and helpdesk / infrastructure teams with the aim of improving the support experience for the in house customer software management platform.

Your customers will mainly be internal so you`ll be dealing with raised tickets and technical queries linked to both the SQL database and software development although you will have exposure to external customers so the ability to communicate professionally both in written and verbal terms is a must.

This is a support role, not software development but it is assumed you have a technical knowledge of SQL databases alongside exposure to programming languages - we have flexibility on the actual development language as it is the mind-set that is key rather than the specific language but it is likely you will be versed with the likes of JavaScript, MySQL & PHP.

We feel this role would ideally suit a candidate that is graduate calibre from a relevant IT related degree and the position offers excellent opportunity to work within a Sunday Times listed Tech Track 100 technology company.

As a Software Support Analyst you will be involved in the following duties:
*Support of internal processes to deal with issues linked to development and database framework
*Work with the development leader and CTO on customer or operational specific requirements
*Assist helpdesk in maintaining relationships with existing customers through regular written and verbal communication linked to support tickets
*Provide basic SQL server database administration
*Ad-hoc report and script creation

The Requirements - You will have the following key skills and experience:
*University honours degree in IT related course desirable but not necessary, showing aptitude of SQL and any common development language or framework is more important
*Good understanding of relational databases and the ability to write moderate complexity SQL queries
*Good communication skills
*Ability to learn new skills quickly
*A very high standard of focus, accuracy and attention to detail is essential
*Ability to communicate to peers and management clearly and in a timely manner on activities.
*Ability to use initiative in identifying day to day issues and challenges and recommending appropriate course of action
*Strong and engaging personality that customers will appreciate and respond to.
