Voice and Data Services Engineer
City of London
£48,000 - £50,000 + £2400 out of hours + Excellent Benefits including 22 days holiday + bank holidays + childcare vouchers

The Role
As a Voice and Data Services Engineer you will be responsible for the installation, configuration and support of all voice systems, with an assumed data networking background. This multi-faceted role will be split 35% voice and 65% data and you will be responsible for delivering projects to customers at a high standard. You will be responsible for predominately VoIP based services using Mitel IP PBXs (3300) & Asterisk PBX's applications suites such as Unified Communication. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration and routine maintenance of the equipment working closely with service partners and will take responsibility for moves & changes on customer PBX which are mainly managed remotely.

Key Responsibilities:
*Provisioning of voice and data services
*Design, configuration and implementation of both voice and data solutions for customers
*To have a strong technical understanding of the voice infrastructure to aid the provisioning and troubleshooting activities together with a strong IP background
*Install and maintain core voice network equipment
*Install, configure/provision, end to end test, maintain voice network elements and systems both on company premises and in the field/on customer/third party sites
*Troubleshoot technical faults and resolve to timely and successful conclusion
*Complete network/system upgrades and planned works (out of hours if required)
*Be on-call out of hours (as part of the duty roster) to deal with customer/network faults/issues
*Quality control of all work undertaken
*To provide on-site supervision of third parties installing equipment and services

The Requirements
As a Voice and Data Services Engineer you will hold at least a CCNA however ideally be CCNP or CCNA voice certified and will have previous experience from an ISP/MSP/Telecoms company. You will have at least 18 months hands on experience and will have the following technical skills:

*Good working knowledge of TCP/IP
*Experience of configuring Cisco routers and switches
*Experience of configuring and supporting OSPF
*Some MPLS experience
*Experience of firewalls (ideally Juniper SSG or SRX)
*Strong technical knowledge of VoIP signalling protocols (SIP, H.323) and media (RTP)
*Experience of softswitch technology and C7 interconnect (WTL IPNx ideally)
*Good experience of UK signalling systems (Q.931, DASSII, Q.SIG, DPNSS etc),
*Experience of diagnostic tools such as wireshark and be able to interrupt traces.
*Experience of TDM to SIP gateways (dialogic )

PBX Experience
*Experience installing and configuring Mitel ICP 3300 Controllers software release MCD 5.xx using SIP and or Q.931
*Experience of Mitel Enterrpsie Manager application
*Experience (ideally) of Mitel Applications suite including Enterprise Manager, Your Assistant /Unified Communication, Teleworker/Mitel Border Gateway)

Advantageous
*BGP experience
*Have demonstrable knowledge of any other PBX s (Asterix, Avaya, Cisco Call Manager)

You will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and have the ability to relate to non-technical people. You will be a self-starter and be able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks at one time.
