Role: Pre-Sales Manager
Location: Coventry
Package: £45-55k plus vehicle, pension, bonus, health.

Mission
Engineering savvy pre sales manager required to work for this global solutions company based out of Coventry. A technical knowledge is assumed, either of mechanical & electrical engineering, automation solutions (PLC / Scada / Telemetry) but they key is leadership skills as you`ll be leading a highly experienced technical team of automation focused pre-sales engineer to support the sales and solution teams.

This role has been earmarked to provide a senior leader of the future in the business and while it reports to director level now, a rapid progression plan will be devised for the successful candidate.

Two key functions:
*The management of a highly technical pre-sales team in line with the sales and marketing strategy of the Company. Promotion of the product and solutions offered, and the provision of specialist advice and consultancy in conjunction with the sales channel. To be responsible for the integrity of the application support function and any engineering deliverables.

*To represent the Services organisation presale division, ensuring all contracts, deliverables and service level agreements are negotiated, costed and adequately resourced.

Responsibilities

*To work with the Customer, Sales, bidding and delivery teams to accurately scope and deliver service requirements.
*To ensure that customers receive the service level they require with well determined contracts and SLAs.
*To differentiate product offering through the provision of specialist advice to prospective customers.
*To be articulate and commercially astute throughout the sales process to gain access to business / accounts not attainable using traditional product sales techniques.
*To supplement the marketing effort pre and post product launch with practical input based on application experiences.
*To promote a solutions approach centred around customer needs.
*To deliver application consultancy to customers to promote self sufficiency within the account; complementary to the product training and after sales service functions.
*To promote self sufficiency within customer accounts where we're not promoting our services offer.
*To apply technical application competence and business acumen in justifying the retrofit of competitor solutions.
*To provide technical management to ensure compliance of engineered solutions to applicable standards and regulations (for both internal and subcontracted design responsibility).
*To gain market share and revenue through infiltration into competitor accounts.
*To provide a concurrent engineering service for hardware and/or software specifications and deliverables.
*To ensure engineering excellence and consistency across high value projects involving multiple OEM's.
*To focus effort towards nominated target accounts and sectors, potentially involving innovative conception and development of engineered solutions which add value to the product.
*To provide input to strategic direction

Essential skills:

*Experience in a management environment

*Technical engineering knowledge prior to move into a leadership position

Desirable:

*Knowledge of automation and telemetry systems solutions

*Bid and Project Management in a control systems environment
