Job Description

The Role: Regional Fibre Repair Manager (FTTP/ FTTH)
Location: Field / Didcot
Package: £40,000 basic with vehicle, pension, 25 days holiday

Overview:

Are you a customer facing telecoms fibre network expert who is looking to move further away from a day to day hands on role, and into more of a regional management position? Do you have an in-depth fibre splicing and jointing background alongside the ability to lead, coach and develop both in house crews and partners on FTTP projects?

If so, we are looking for a regional fibre repair manager to work for this telecoms company on projects across the South of England.

It`s a permanent job and would be office based with assumed field work - both as a manager and also for emergency technical repairs.

You`ll be the manager and technical escalation point for all fibre from the cabinet through to customer premises and you'll manage workload, quality and performance for all field repair related issues.

Most of the work tends to be accessible from the M1/M4/M25 axis so while you'll be office based, the flexibility will be there for some home working and also time in the field to manage your region.

You'll be responsible for the repair of any faults across the region, so you'll coach in house and contract partner crews when needed on what the perfect repair should look like. You'll see everything is done in accordance with the NRSWA, so you'll be experienced and savvy enough to know what is right, and what is wrong when it comes to external street works and the repair of service via cable to customer premises.

You'll work closely with senior management, and be involved in monthly meetings with the contract partners

You will need some form of leadership background, and you'll need to be able to take ownership but this offers the ideal situation for an experienced engineer with some management to move into a formal leadership role with the potential to become a national manager in the future.

Skill wise, we`d be aiming for:

* A detailed knowledge of telecoms fibre optic networks with knowledge of FTTC and FTTH
* Evidence of leadership across a field operations / site management style function
* Extensive fibre splicing and testing experience
* Knowledge of the typical hand tools and equipment used in telecoms installations and construction.
* NRSWA qualified with knowledge of HAUC.
* Coaching & developing telecoms field engineers.
* Solid use of Microsoft office (Mainly Excel) alongside use of PowerPoint as a coach.
* Full driving license and a can-do attitude to location and being out in the field.
