£28,000 - £30,000 + £2,000 Shift Allowance + Excellent Benefits inc pension and healthcare

Please note this role requires security clearance therefore you must have been a permanent UK resident for at least 5 years.

The Role
As a NOC Service Support Engineer working for a leading communications provider you will be responsible for providing 2nd line network support to customers on a 24 hours/365 days a year basis. The shifts are on a 4 days on/4 days off shift pattern covering 12 hour shifts between 8am-8pm or 10am-10pm. You will be working in a NOC and will be involved in the following duties:

*Monitoring, operating and maintaining systems and databases.
*Resolving issues promptly, escalating to 3rd line or vendors when required.
*Proactively monitoring NOC and BGAN POP.
*Supporting WAN/LAN issues and handling IP traffic analysis.
*Working on a central CRM, logging calls and ensuring cases are kept updated until resolved.
*Keeping customers updated on the open cases, owning and managing cases until resolution.

The Requirements
As a NOC Service Support Engineer it is essential you have the following skills and experience:
*At least 2 years experience in a customer support role, preferably in a NOC. Any experience with satellite communications is highly advantageous.
*Technical knowledge of IT networking/systems such as IP Addresses. Any knowledge of satellite communications equipment/systems is desirable.
*Strong communicator with excellent problem solving skills.
*Great customer service skills, ability to interact both on the phone and face to face.

This role will suit someone from a forces/signals background with a CCNA and satellite experience.

Desirable Requirements
*Networking qualifications such as CCNA.
*Degree in a similar field such as Computer Science or Communications Engineering.
*Experience/knowledge of VSAT systems such as Inmarsat or SeaTel
