Job Description

We are looking to recruit a number of field installation engineers to work for this major telecommunications company working around the Dudley area.

You will be working on a field engineering basis, installing digital TV, broadband and telephony services to residential customers. This is a permanent role (PAYE) which will consist of a basic salary and price work.

Prior experience of working with the cable/ Sky TV industry would be an advantage but we would be happy to hear from customer facing field engineers from other sectors of the telecommunications industry. We would certainly look at cross training enthusiastic, professional skilled engineers who have cable expertise (Cat5 or Cat 6) and essential customer facing experience.

This role will involve an element of external and internal cabling work and as such, you should be physically fit, with excellent communication skills and a "right first time" attitude to installations.

Core activities:

*Install all customers' services in a professional manner
*Educate the customer on services installed and ensure all services are operating to the customers' satisfaction
*Self audit all work and ensure it meets all applicable technical and operational quality standards
*Work efficiently and tidily, maintain a clean environment and at all times be polite to the customer
*Respond effectively and appropriately to all customer requests and enquiries
*Complete work that meets the required quality standards
*Complete work to agreed time scales
*Comply with Health & Safety standards
*Ensure that all work activities comply with environmental regulations
*Ensure the use of plant and tools are conducted in a safe manner, meeting the requirements for operation of the specific equipment
*Conduct daily checks of vehicles in line with company Transport Policy
*Ensure vehicles are not over-loaded or otherwise pose a risk
*Conduct daily checks of plant and tools, ensure they are safe to use and where applicable carry valid calibration certificates

Attributes:
*Ability to take direction from supervisor/management and execute works in an efficient manner
*Proactive in the resolution of engineering obstacles, conferring with supervisor
*Customer focused with a professional outward attitude
*Flexibility to undertake works outside core working hours
*Full driving license
*Ability to learn new skills quickly with training.

Working week is 5 days from 6.

This role is to have a basic salary and then price work - realistically you can earn over £20k in your first year and the price work is completely uncapped. You will receive van, tools, petrol card and company mobile so there is no expense to yourself. You will have a pension too where the company contribute 10%. As the role is permanent you will have holiday pay too.
