Paying £23,750 Including Standby

This role does involve shift based work, working 1 in every 2 weekends, so a flexible approach to working hours is needed.

The Role

As a field service engineer you'll be responsible for the service of our clients industry leading EPOS systems working for a number of the main players in the retail industry. You'll join the retail service team and carry out maintenance and service to customers. The work is centred on a small amount of install and commissioning, troubleshooting, fault resolution and maintenance, you'll need to be IT savvy, but training is provided for those showing the right attitude and with a story to tell will be considered.

Customer service is key within this role, you'll be meeting with clients from large supermarkets to small high-street retailers, but everyone must be treated with the same level of customer care and professionalism.

The Shift Pattern and Pay

You'll join a region with 4 engineers working a shift, I have the shift pattern available and am happy to send it over. The standard working day is 9-5.30pm, you'll be on normal days for about 33% of the month. 33% of days you'll be on early call, meaning you could be called out from 7am and will work a normal day around this. 33% of the time you will be on late call, where you will be on call from 5.30pm - 11pm at night.
Each month you average 52.5hours standby and this is paid at £3.50 per hour whether you're out in the field or at home on the sofa. Any work done outside of your core hours 9-5.30 is paid at overtime rates, meaning you can earn some decent money.
Most engineers are easily covering £25k in this role

The Responsibilities

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for:

*Service calls as directed by PDA/Smartphone based around your local town and surrounding areas
*Preparation and Installation of EPOS systems
*Installation and Troubleshooting of some EPOS software systems
*Maintain vehicle stock to minimise loses
*Perform to KPI's in line with company policy

The Candidate
The successful Engineer will have an IT background, you'll be used to field based engineering and want to get in with a huge client who treat you well and give you the chance to progress. EPOS or ATM experience is ideal for this role and we can consider any manufacturer. Some experience of networking equipment would be an advantage but not essential.
Candidates who can demonstrate they have the right skills and ability to learn will be considered as our end client have comprehensive training facilities.

The Hours of Work

9.00 - 5.30pm - work outside of these hours is paid at overtime rates
Shift based work 1 weekend off in 2
7-9am standby on early shift

The Package

The role is paying up to £21,500 basic salary with £2250 standby allowance
