The Role: Communications Architect - IMS
Location - Home based, can be anywhere in the UK with travel to Holland and Belgium 2-3 nights a month
Package - c£70,000 - £72,000 + 15% Bonus + Benefits including pension, healthcare, £5,600 car allowance and other flexible benefits

We are looking to recruit a Communications Architect to work in a national and international team tasked with delivering both fixed and mobile converged services including end to end consumer and enterprise level. This role suits an architect that is an IMS specialist, can talk the language of IMS and will know terms like GX, GY and RF.

This role involves having the ability to talk about practical implementation of an IMS solution therefore you will know the terms like hybrid converged deployment. The role isn't around people management however will be a matrix manager and as an architect will lead my example and have significant kudos and gravitas with the more junior engineers. Due to this you will be commercially savvy and understand end to end architecture when it comes to IMS.

The role would ideally suit someone from a carrier that has delivered IMS in the UK.
SC security clearance would be beneficial but the ability to go through SC clearance would be essential.

As a Communications Architect your role purpose will be:
*IMS Based platforms for the delivery of multimedia Voice, Video, Messaging and Data services.
*Accountable for developing and documenting architectural steers/guidelines and acting as technical design authority.
*Responsible for all related Architecture Roadmaps (topology, technology, etc) and ensuring that the technical roadmaps align with corporate strategy in terms of product development needs, growth aspirations, regulatory conditions and the desire to continuously improve reliability, address business critical obsolescence and optimise the associated long term cost base.

You will be responsible for:
*Develop, document and maintain architectural guidelines/standards; being sure to consider network capabilities, product, security, compliance, operations, planning and engineering requirements as well as the impact on IT, system integration and test teams.
*Ensure all proposed changes are backed up by a strong understanding of the business capability needs driving the change, the benefits being assumed, the options available to afford the capability and how each option performs across key evaluation dimensions (cost, complexity, etc).
*Identify, critically evaluate and champion opportunities for long term improvement in platforms estate; including:
-Simplification and Standardisation,
-Introduction of New Technologies and Capabilities that address Business Needs,
-Cost and Support Optimisation,
-Identification of Synergies.

It is essential you have the following experience:
*Able to drive architectural direction, and substantiate balanced recommendations that reflect a broader business perspective in addition to a technology perspective.
*The ability to track and identify disruptive technologies and/or approaches that could drive developments in IMS Based Platforms.
*A strong overall understanding of the technologies and platforms specific to a large cable and telecommunications operator.
*Architect level IMS experience from a fixed line or mobile background, ideally from a carrier however not essential

The Package
Salary is around £70,000 - £72,000 with £5,600 car allowance, 15% KPI driven bonus, pension, private health and flexible benefits to suit.
