Job Description

We are currently looking for a 2nd Line Technical Support Technician to join a multi-national company based in Chafford Hundred, Essex. It is essential that you have a sound experience working within a helpdesk/support environment and we would be ideally looking for a someone who is MCSA qualified and with a good understanding of SQL server, Microsoft Server and Exchange. The systems within this company are bespoke so it is essential that you are able to learn and adapt to new systems quickly as full product training will be given.

It is imperative that you are an outstanding communicator and that you possess excellent written and oral English, having an analytical and logical mind. This is a role that offers excellent career opportunities which can move in numerous directions, whether you are looking to move in to more operational roles or even in to project manager roles in the future.

The Role

- Provide 2nd line support for European and UK users on operational and financial applications used by our client
- Work with 1st and 3rd line support to clarify and resolve issues
- Responsible for any training required within the region in conjunction with the BPI team
- Liaise with 2nd line support staff across the globe on change requirements, performance and functional issues
- Analyse new functionality for the global application requirements

Key Skills

- Have a solid experience working within a support/helpdesk environment
- Hold a MCSA and are generally highly computer literate
- Excellent written English and Oral skills
- Basic knowledge of the maritime industry and accounting is desirable

Although this role is based in Essex there will be travel involved to mainland Europe so you must be open to travel and overnight stay.
