The Role

In our experience having placed 6 delivery managers within the past 18 months in different regions in the UK wide as our clients rapid expansion has continued to role on you'll have the following background:

You'll be or have been responsible for ensuring FTTH network builds are delivered to pre-defined and detailed project plans. You'll be fleet footed moving between site and managing a team of experienced NRSWA Civil Supervisors and subcontractors to ensure H&S and quality standards are met.
Your boss will be most likely a headhunted, experienced project manager with an excellent track record, who also saw the opportunity to join the fastest growing network company in the UK. We expect based on your background you'll have friends in high places and a history of developing good working relationships with Project Managers, Local Authorities and Councils. The Delivery Manager will largely be field based and will deliver to pre-defined project plans.

Responsibilities

The Delivery Manager- Telecoms/Fibre/Civils will be responsible for:

*Delivery Management
*On-Site Delivery Management of FTTH network and Civils works
*Coordination of subcontractors and splicing teams
*Ensure As-Built reports are produced
*Aid the Project Manager with on-site cost, time and quality control management
*Local Authority stakeholder management
*Liaising with Landowners to support the PM with wayleave agreements
*Resolve on-site customer issues
*Resolve Project Manager queries
*Reporting of network delivery KPIs
*Ensuring on-site stock levels are adequate - re-order where necessary
*Contribute to lessons learned
*Raise Change Requests into projects and design
*Telecommunications
*Ensure the Network Design is adhered to
*Deliver active and passive network elements to internal quality standards
*Sign off cab builds
*Civils
*On-site management of subcontractors
*Ensure civils dig teams adhere to statutory legislation
*Ensure that civils dig teams are inducted with internal working practices
*Ensure telecommunications & civils subcontractors adhere to installation standards
*Walk the route with civils teams to understand network build
*CDM
*On-site H&S
*On-site quality
*Aiding set up of equipment storage yards
*Help co-ordinate Civils Inspectors in dig areas
*Liaise with Highways Authorities
*Understand and challenge Method Statements and Risk Assessments
*Request Notices, Permits and Road Closure from PMO
*Oversee Core Testing and Trial Hole programmes
*Check off weekly civils contractors measures

The Candidate

The ideal Delivery Manager will have experience delivering similar FTTH/FTTX projects, with good management practice centred around network build. The background that's best suited would be someone ambitious and looking to get on-board a rapidly growing company at the right time, that long term could open a lot of doors for you.

If you understand civils digs, and have a background in the management of noticing, trenching and reinstatement. You'll have multiple experienced and well qualified in house NRSWA Civil Supervisors report into you, so your people management skills and communication should be tip top too. The nature of the role will require you to have a strong working relationship with local council authorities so a NRSWA qualification to understand legislation is a must.

If you harbour long term ambitions of moving into project management this could be a real platform for you to shine and someone with a Prince 2 practitioners qualification would certainly stand out from the crowd.
