This is an ideal opportunity to join a leading global Telecoms company in a strategic role of an I.T. infrastructure manager. We are looking for candidates who have experience of managing technical teams in an ITIL environment consisting of 3rd line support professionals. We are looking for candidates who have also taken part in key transformational projects.

The Role

In this role you will play a key part in formulating a shared vision and direction for this I.T. department of fifteen 3rd line support professionals. The department has just undertaken a large multi-million pound project to update endpoint users desktops and tablets with new software. After completion of the latest project the department now needs to identify the next challenge and the thus the key part of this role will be to strategize and identify new projects to be undertaken. You will spend time with different business units to understand what their needs are and how you can continually improve the service and technology which they utilise. Once the projects have been defined you will need to write a business case to ensure budgets are released, and then you will have overall responsibility for ensuring these projects are completed successfully.
On a day to day basis you will provide leadership and mentoring to the team which consists of a team leader, three technical specialists, a consultant and ten 3rd line supports.
You will also provide 3rd line technical support on occasions as you see necessary for workplace infrastructure services including the delivery and documentation of the following:
#Escalated on-call 24*7*365 support
#Operational, initiative and project based activities
#End point security including Anti-Virus and Safeboot
#Citrix & VDI farms
#SCCM
#Application Packaging
#Capacity and availability management
# Technical design and implementation

The candidate

The ideal candidate for this role will be a passionate and driven manager who has a high energy approach. You will have worked previously in an ITIL environment, ideally for a large cooperate organisation and now be looking to bring all that you have learnt into a strategic role.
You should be enjoy leadership and mentoring of others and be able at the same time to design and strategize the future direction of an I.T. support department. We are looking for someone who's strengths lie in their management of people and projects but you will need to have a good level of technical knowledge and it is pretty much expected that you will have worked within a 3rd line support role in the past before moving into a managerial position.

*Strong understanding of compliance requirements that relate to end point and thin client infrastructure including ITIL, Sarbanes Oxley, ISO17799, COBIT, and internal external auditing authorities.
Extensive knowledge of the following areas:
# Microsoft Infrastructure, including - Active Directory, Group Policies, Windows Server 2003, 2008 & 2012
# SCCM 2007 and 2012,
# Citrix XenApp & XenDesktop
# Microsoft XP, Windows 7, Windows 8
# McAfee Anti Virus & Safeboot
# MS Office
