Position: IT Support Administrator (1st/ 2nd Line)
Location: Central London
Salary: £25-35k plus benefits.

Overview:
We are looking to recruit a Microsoft bias IT all rounder to join this expanding technology company based in Central London (Warren Street). Working as part of a vibrant IT department, you`ll be responsible for providing varied technical desktop and server support to a number of external business customers users along with providing internal company support.

It is assumed you are a Microsoft savvy support engineer with a good grasp of their typical O/S and infrastructure including MS Server upto 2012, Exchange and Active Directory. Support and administration experience of Microsoft Office 365 is a strong advantage and in addition, you will have virtual server support experience (Either VMWare, Hyper-V or Citrix XenServer) and a solid understanding of networking and typical network protocols.

As a Desktop Support Engineer you will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar support desk/helpdesk environment. You will be highly organised and will have outstanding communication skills and the ability to own and manage technical escalations. You will enjoy talking to customers and must also be able to demonstrate outstanding case management and customer support excellence. You will be ambitious, driven and enthusiastic and will be looking for an opportunity that allows you to expand your current skillset by working with leading technologies (e.g. Cisco/Juniper/Extreme/Mitel/Broadsoft/NetXplorer).

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

*Be able to deal with users at all levels, from novice to expert, and change how information is passed on to suit the user level.
*Work with help desk tickets, manage priority, communicate to end users and colleagues where needed in a timely manner. Build rapport with customers and provide first class service when dealing with technical support issues.
*Communicate well with emails and verbally.
*Monitor servers every day, looking for OS errors, hardware warnings etc.
*Be able to manage implementation / configuration of new hardware / software, servers back-up, PC's, switches, AP's, mobile PDA's.
*Provide accurate, relevant information when working with third party suppliers and a varied range of external business customers, to resolve issues, implement new software / hardware etc.

Competencies
*Be familiar with MS server 2000 to 2012 OS.
*Be familiar with Windows 7,8 and ideally 8.1
*Good Microsoft office 2013 and Office 365 skills.
* MS Server 2012 and Exchange Server 2013
*Have required level of understanding about the virtual server environment e.g. how it works, how to manage.
*Have an understanding of how a network infrastructure works, e.g. layout, switch relationship, connections - fibre / RJ45, relevant hardware etc.
*Although this is primarily a Microsoft Desktop and Server role, knowledge of typical network protocols would be required.
*Be familiar with how standard software is set-up and configured to suit system / user requirements.
*Have an understanding of mobile device Operating systems
*Have an understanding of hardware, be able to trouble shoot component failure and swap out replacement parts when needed.
