The Role: DevOps Engineer (Linux, SAN, Puppet, Chef)
Location: Central London
Package: £55-65k plus pension, healthcare, gym membership

Overview:
An experienced DevOps Engineer is needed at one of the UK's fastest growing technology businesses, listed in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100.
As part of the business plan, a new and exciting role has been defined to accelerate the internal system delivery capability.
As DevOps Engineer, you`ll understand software development processes, the latest software languages and tools, and the underlying systems required to deploy and support.
The DevOps Engineer is expected to build, configure, and maintain the third party and custom applications required to manage the items produced by the development team during the development phases.

Ideal Candidate's KEY Skills:

* Ability to solve operational issues through engineering automated solutions
* 3+ years' experience, ideally in a start-up or fast growing company, in a rapid DevOPs environment
* Proficiency with database systems ideally including MySQL, MongoDB and InfluxDB
* Ability to identify root cause issues quickly and solve them when time is a critical factor
* Scripting skills (Python, Ruby, Bash etc.)
* Experience with network monitoring (e.g. Nagios) as well as centralised logging systems (e.g. Splunk), version management systems (e.g. git, CVS) and automation tools (e.g. Chef, Puppet)
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or the equivalent
* Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
* Ability to code and script
* Excellent knowledge of Linux OS
* Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
* Strong grasp of automation tools
* Knowledge of router/switch config a big plus
* Data management skills
* A strong focus on business outcomes

Key responsibilities are:

* Develop and institute monitoring policies as well as intrusion detection systems
* Manage configuration deployment, backup and (OS) updates
* Own the day to day management of the SAN infrastructure
* Enable rapid development through robust Continuous Integration and Deployment
* Script / automate core processes to improve efficiency as well as platform availability
* Ensure highest availability of the platform and its core services
* Debug incidents, escalate and follow through until resolution has been achieved
* Administer Active Directory, MS Exchange, group policies
* Partner with other teams to share tools, expertise, and create effective solutions
* Building (based on requirements input) virtual machines (Linux, Windows, etc) and maintaining them.
* Script and SW development against pre-defined APIs, including SaaS based APIs.
