Junior Desktop Engineer
£22,000 - £24,000 + Excellent Benefits including 24 day holiday, pension and training opportunities

Please note the shifts for this role are 7.30am - 4pm or 10am - 6.30pm

The Opportunity
This role is offering the right candidate the opportunity to work in a team supporting a variety of different customers on a day to day basis and progress through the business. The company work predominantly within the financial services industry therefore you'll be trained in market data applications such as Bloomberg and Fidessa.

The Role
As a Junior Desktop Engineer working for a leading IT managed service company you will be responsible for supporting the service desk , providing 1st/2nd line support remotely and on customer site and will also be involved in projects. This role suits someone with 12 - 18+ months experience with a keenness to learn and develop in a company. You will have a broad range of 1st/2nd line skills gained in a demanding environment. The role requires good customer facing skills and workload management. You will also be involved in the following duties:

*Supporting clients as a 1st/2nd line engineer remotely and on customer site
*Microsoft Office support
*Hardware/software upgrades/installs
*Managing system installations
*Providing high levels of customer satisfaction, ensuring all KPI's and SLA's are achieved
*Handling service requests and incidents in a timely manner
*Coordinate with third parties for support, installation and maintenance
*Liase with 3rd line Engineers when needed

The Requirements
As a Junior Desktop Engineer you will have at least 12 months commercial experience, ideally from a managed service provider although not essential. Any understanding of ITIL and related processes is highly beneficial. You will be keen to learn, enthusiastic and be looking to develop within the business. You will have the following technical experience:

* Windows 7/ Windows 8/Windows 10
* All versions of Microsoft Office up to Office 365
* Windows Server 2008/2012
* Microsoft Exchange
* Active Directory
* Blackberry, Apple products and mobile devices
* VMWare
* Citrix
* Remote connectivity tools such as Dameware, Citrix Go To Assist and RDP
* Basic networking

Desirable
* Cisco
* Juniper
* Sharepoint
* Any knowledge of Cloud / virtual computing
* Telephony
* Certifications such as MCSA/ITIL/MCSE/CompTIA
