Working with the technical lead and HOD, you`ll help to develop and manage the automated testing processes alongside performing manual testing when needed.


Job Description

The Role: QA Engineer - Software Development
Location: Central London
Package: £40,000 - 50,000 depending on experience & Pension, Health/ Dentist, Gym & Personal Training, Commuting costs to work covered.

We're looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to work with a new team of developers within this market leading cloud services business in Central London. Working with the technical lead and HOD, you`ll help to develop and manage the automated testing processes alongside performing manual testing when needed.

You`ll play a key role in deciding when a software release is ready to go into production and will oversee all of the testing (Automated and Manual) for the whole stack from backend through to UI layer and will work with the technical leads to ensure comprehensive coverage across the entire codebase.

You`ll have a good all round exposure to a range of development languages such as JavaScript & Java and related technologies within an Agile environment and will be able to point to a track record of automated and manual testing within this environment. You will be familiar with project tracking software such as Jira, and will have the communication skills to allow you to converse at all levels across the business.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

* Demonstrable experience of working within an agile software development environment as a QA engineer.
* Good knowledge of Java, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
* Experienced within Agile/TDD environments.
* In depth automation testing and setup experience.
* Good knowledge and exposure to most of the following technologies:

- Angular JS, Backbone, ReactJS, Spring, SOAP Web Services, SOAP API, Symfony, Bootstrap, Cucumber, LESS, SASS, JUnit and Selenium.

Desirable would be anything from:
- Apache, Jenkins / Hudson, Tomcat and Hibernate

Key Responsibilities:

This is a varied role, and is a new position. To give a flavour though of what your day and week might look like:

* Day to day story ownership of the automated testing framework.
* Liaise with stakeholders to make sure test cases have valid and testable requirements.
* Working with the developers to find the best way to test each deliverable.
* Follow agile methodologies in use by the team.
* Help with the documentation of systems.
* Working with the other members of the team to ensure key outputs are delivered to set deadlines.
