Position is working for a Fast Track 100 technology firm that employs a number of cutting edge technical solutions.

Support Desk Engineer (Voice & Data)

The Role
As a Support Desk Engineer working for one of the UK's fastest growing technology companies you will be responsible for providing technical support to hosted voice and data services. This role has been created due to expansion and is offering the successful candidate the opportunity to join a market lead and ensure it delivers service excellence to its customers.

You will have previous experience supporting these services in an ISP, MSP or Telecoms environment and will be looking for an opportunity to work with cutting edge technologies and have the opportunity for progression through multiple paths of the business.

You will be involved in the following duties:

*Voice and data fault troubleshooting, over the phone and via email
*Owning service issues and ensuring these are resolved
*Network troubleshooting and maintenance including WiFi, VLAN, layer 2 switching, bandwith shaping and analysis
*Voice troubleshooting
*Voice configuration including call routing, extension updates, hunt groups, voice call recording
*Dealing with 3rd party suppliers such as telecom carriers and hardware and software
*"Going the extra mile" to deliver timely fixes or updates for customers
*Ensuring a high level of service is provided to clients at all times
*Administration on switches and routers from vendors such as Extreme Networks, Juniper or Cisco, Allot bandwidth management platforms, and Broadsoft / Acme Packet Voice platforms.

As a Support Desk Engineer you will have the following previous experience:

Essential
*Previous experience in an ISP, MSP or Telecoms environment
*Good networking skills (Extreme, Cisco, Juniper)
*Good voice skills (VoIP and SIP)
*Strong communicator with the ability to clearly understand customer requirements
*Highly organised
*A quick learner and be keen to learn new technologies
*Any voice platform experience, the company use Broadsoft however welcome candidates with exposure to Mitel, Avaya, Cisco, Asterisk or similar PBX's

Desirable
*Linux, server, storage and cloud troubleshooting skills
*CCNA or similar or studying towards
*Technical and administration skills with technology from Broadsoft, Mitel, Extreme, Juniper, Cisco, Allot

Although we are ideally looking for an all-rounder, candidates with strong experience in either voice or networking with only some exposure to the other will also be considered for this role as long as the applicant shows a strong desire to learn.
