I have an outstanding Manchester based opportunity available for a NOC Engineer to join this up and coming enterprise. Are you a Network Engineer with a good knowledge of WAN technologies / Networking devices and routing protocols? So why has this position come about?

Due to my client's expansion and ongoing investment into their global NOC, they are looking to welcome a 1st line Network Engineer to their team. Our client offers 24/7 support for all of their networking products and services. The position would be ideal for people who enjoy networking technologies, who have a desire to provide excellent customer service, and want to learn and develop new skills!

About the Role

Within this role you would be using your strong networking background to provide support for a world's first in networking. You would use your customer service skills to be the central point of contact for all their customer support needs, using your judgment to escalate issues where appropriate. Working within an incident management framework you will performing an initial triage and then log and track issues.

What Are We Looking For?

We are looking ambitious people to begin a career with a Silicon Valley company. You will have very strong networking skills; a good understanding of WAN Technologies and experience of Cisco, Extreme or Juniper.

Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticket management systems is a strong advantage. You'll understand BGP & OSPF with a good all round routing protocol knowledge and our technical environment is mixed, so we are open minded about kind of vendor kit you have mainly used. If you are a good all round, network support engineer who has perhaps gained the CompTIA+ or a similar qualification then this role gives you a good chance to get the foot in the door and then progress moving forward.

Customer focus is everything to my client and so your excellent customer focus will be invaluable. As a vibrant and dynamic business your calm head and logical and methodical approach will see you well.

90% of the work is by email therefore excellent written communications skills is essential.
This is working the swing shift of 16:00 - 01:00 so you have to be able and willing to work these hours. You also need to have a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Pay and Benefits

Depending on experience and skill set this role is paying £18,000 - £24,000 basic salary. As this is working the swing shift of 16:00 - 01:00 you are paid 15% on top of your basic salary, which equates to £21k - £27k.
