Sounds up your street? Please read more below!

So why has this position come about?

Due to my client's expansion and ongoing investment into their global NOC, they are looking to welcome a 3rd line Network Engineer to their team. Our client offers 24/7 support for all of their networking products and services. The position would be ideal for people who enjoy networking technologies, who have a desire to provide excellent customer service, and want to learn and develop new skills!

About the Role

Within this role you would be using your strong 3rd line networking background to provide support for a world's first in networking. You would use your strong knowledge of routing, switching, OSPF and BGP to be the last line of defence and ensure the network remains operational. This is a senior level networking engineering role and you'll be acting as escalation point for the lower levels of support in the network team.

What Are We Looking For?

We are looking experienced Network Engineers to further their career with an ambitious and growing Silicon Valley company. You will have very strong networking skills including OSPF and BGP; several years' experience in a 3rd Line Networking Role and either a JNCIA, CCNA/CCNP or ECNA.

Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticket management systems is a strong advantage. You'll understand BGP & OSPF with a good all round routing protocol knowledge and our technical environment is mixed, so we are open minded about kind of vendor kit you have mainly used. If you are a network engineer who is able to commit to this initial working shift (It is fixed for now but is likely to rotate in the future) and are a solid 3rd line level (Or have the skills, capability and ambition to work at 3rd line level) then we are keen to talk. We are thinking the correct engineer is likely to be skilled in either Cisco, Juniper or Extreme so the relevant qualifications from those vendors would be ideal, but once in the business then the opportunity will be there to cross train across network vendors and increase your overall knowledge and exposure.

Customer focus is everything to my client and so your excellent customer focus will be invaluable. As a vibrant and dynamic business your calm head and logical and methodical approach will see you well.

90% of the work is by email therefore excellent written communications skills is essential.

This is working the swing shift of 16:00 - 01:00 so you have to be able and willing to work these hours. You also need to have a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Pay and Benefits

Depending on experience and skill set this role is paying £30,000 - £35,000 basic salary. As this is working the swing shift of 16:00 - 01:00 you are paid 25% on top of your basic salary, which equates to £37k - £43k.
