Are you currently working for a telecoms service provider or vendor? Are you looking for a role that combines your technical expertise with your commercial nous?

We're a nationwide telecoms company looking for a new Commercial Solutions Manager (CSM) to oversee the team responsible for shaping and pricing our large scale, enterprise level managed solutions.

This would typically be a Cisco-biased data and voice solution and customers include the NHS, Local and Central Government and Blue Light Emergency Services. . The Commercial Solutions Manager will help to shape and price the deal from an early stage, so you will work closely with pre-sales and also the technical Solution Design Consultants. You'll aim to ensure best value for the customer but also that the solution is priced to be revenue generating and commercially viable for the business.

Whilst you'll be based in Manchester your team of 3 Commercial Managers and 3 Pre-Sales Consultants are geographically dispersed. The aim of the team is to generally join the dots from the bid team through to launch of project with aim of ensuring value for the customer but also that the project (Solution) would be feasible and commercially viable.
Whilst the team is well established and has a number of technical experts in their midst it is in need of some change management to bring it up to the level of the enterprise sales group.

The Candidate
As Commercial Solutions Manager it's key that you're a strong people manager. You'll be overseeing a group of highly talented, technically adept Commercial Managers and Solutions Architects who are going to bounce ideas off you and look to you for leadership so you'll need to be able to demonstrate this.

A strong technical foundation will give you real credibility and gravitas and this will need to be projected quickly to make your impact on the team felt from day one. This technical knowledge is likely to be around Cisco bias, enterprise level complex managed solutions. This is a commercially bias role, so you don't need to be a technical architect but the ability to understand and talk technical with the members of your team, and the wider business is paramount.

Strong stakeholder management skills around the business are also required, you'll need to be able to challenge and push back into the business, ask the right questions and will likely be a curious problem solver who can champion the commercial function. This part of the business traditionally hasn't had such a voice when compared to the enterprise sales group so the CSM will be brought in to change that.

Up to £80,000 basic salary (dependent upon experience)
