Job Scope
An excellent opportunity has arose for a General Manager- Mobile Telecoms. This role will be to manage all Company operations within the telecoms and power/civils services of this UK business, including resourcing, budgets & commercial development.

The Role
The General Manager- Mobile Telecoms will be responsible for the following

*Grow the UK Telecom & Power Business to a turnover in excess of £15 million per annum
*Responsible for the UK P&L to achieve in excess of 10% net profit
*Manage cashflows by reducing WIP and ensuring invoicing and payment on time
*Oversee all tenders from a commercial point of view
*Ensure all suppliers and sub contractors are on similar payment terms
*Ensure all sub contractors are paid on time and no overpayments occur
*Ensure that all agreed rates are under strict budgetary control
*Create immediate to long-range plans to develop and drive efficiency and cost focused initiatives
*Develop and continuously improve planning and cost analysis management systems

Client & Business Development
*Seek out and develop new opportunities, clients and projects
*Be the senior point of contact for all clients
*Build strong relationships with our clients and assume responsibility for dealing with escalation issues
*Ensure delivery of customer requirements and act as key interface between business and customers

Project & Program Delivery
*Identify and drive implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to support and improve projects delivery
*Ensure all projects are delivered on time, to budget and to operational quality & safety standards
*Champion a quality culture across the Telecoms & Power Services and devise appropriate initiatives to underpin 'best practice' to Quality and Health and Safety
*Ensure all projects meet required KPIs and SLAs safely
*Monitor, measure, track and report on all PMs and Crews with a view to improving KPIs through a culture of healthy competition
*Develop the Warehouse to the next level of strategic logistics management

Resource Management
*Responsible for ensuring the Project Management team(s) and field force teams are resourced efficiently in order to be able to cope with project demands while meeting budget requirements
*Reviewing projects 3 months in advance to ensure resourcing is sufficient for project requirements
*Develop our sub-contracting resources for Telecoms Civils & Power/Civils, both for regional UK subcontractors as well as Eastern European sub contractors i.e. develop overseas resource base
*Develop relationships with key personnel in the field as well as at management level
*Ensure we are a market leader in use and development of technology as well as talent sourcing
*Responsible for leadership on performance management system and for supporting and performance managing direct reports
*Producing weekly, monthly & quarterly reports as required for the Directors and CFO
*Bring a high level of innovation to the role ensuring best practice and smart systems of work in the department.

The Candidate
The ideal General Manager- Mobile Telecoms will have;

*Extensive experience in a similar role
*Strong Mobile Telecoms knowledge
*Relevant Technical/Engineering degree or equivalent
*Knowledge of contracting, negotiating and change management
*Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources
*Strong Leadership experience in a project management environment essential
*Proven people skills in developing high performance teams
*Experience in customer interfacing role at senior management level

The ideal General Manager- Mobile Telecoms needs to Be

*Operationally biased with ability to make key decisions to support business
*Able to take a 'big picture' of the business and respond to external and internal challenges accordingly
*Must take ownership for tasks and responsibilities
*Able to effectively operate in a dynamic and fast paced organization
*Proficient people manager and able to manage teams to optimum performance
*Proven organisational and planning skills
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and deliver presentations
*Have integrity and be professional at all times
