The Opportunity
Do you want to work for a Silicon Valley company who have just began operations in the UK? Are you a senior leader with a proven track record in the field of telecoms, SaaS & Network Operations?

This is a new role, and the Director of Network Operations Centre (NOC) will be responsible for managing a Global Network and the services it provides to our customers. Reporting to the Silicon Valley based Chief Network Officer, you will manage a 24x7x365 Network Operations Centre with a focus on supporting our customers, maintaining availability of the network, responding to network incidents and managing service restoration.

You'll lead both the 24/7 service desk and network engineering function (10 reports) and the principle focus is the support of customers in the UK, USA and Australia. The Manchester team is expanding, and you'll be involved in the strategy associated what this growth would look like so we need someone who comes from the technology background, can demonstrate success within a 24/7 global support environment and has the communication skills to interface, and influence stakeholders, vendors and customers across 3 continents.


About the Role - what is the technical environment?

The vendor environment is mixed between Cisco, Juniper and Extreme and to act as leader in this group, you'll be able to point to demonstrable professional experience working with complex networks, the related concepts and systems including MPLS, Carrier Ethernet, BGP, DWDM, Linux, network monitoring, and more.

Who are you?

A leader and influencer, and your track record gives the credibility to your group and the wider business. This is a global interface position, so it is taken as read you have flexibility to communicate with colleagues in the USA and Australia outside of UK business hours and you'll also understand that you'll need to show your face to the teams that will be working shifts underneath you on a 24/7 basis.

You'll understand NOC industry best practise, and the direction this sector is going in. You'll be able to bring some good ideas with you, and offer guidance against lessons learned in the past with the intention of making this NOC, and customer support environment best in class.

You'll be experienced at operating a technical customer contact / service centre including reporting metrics, call queue set up, and determination of technology requirements necessary for the operation

Package:
