Opporunity
An opportunity has arisen for an IT Field Support Technician to join a UK leading Hire Company within their IT division. As expected from an innovative business, technology is placed at the heart of the
organisation and is seen as a true strategic enabler. To help the organisation climb to even greater heights you will be expected to share the responsibility for all aspects of the support of the Network and PC environments. The role will involve a mixture of both in-house and field coverage across Southern UK locations of our UK wide client.

The Role
The IT Field Support Technician will be expected to;

*Provide onsite assistance throughout the branch network and administration centre where necessary.
*Assist in the day to day support of the PC environment throughout the Southern UK locations both remotely or onsite where necessary
*Assist in the support and maintenance of network infrastructure and security throughout Southern UK locations both remotely and onsite where necessary
*Assist in the deployment of network services throughout existing or new locations
*Assist other member of the team where necessary
*Keep a log of all technical faults (Helpdesk System)
*Where necessary liaise with external suppliers for the repair of equipment under warranty or maintenance contract
*Provide troubleshooting resolution and updating/upgrading of hardware
*Be contactable via mobile communication during the day
*Be available to attend any Southern UK site at short notice.

The Technology
In relation to the technology, the IT Field Support Technician will primarily based out in the field providing support to the branch opening/closing program (circa 50 in 2015). On the occasions when the candidate is based in the office they would be expected to assist in the provision of first line and second line support.

The IT Field Support Technician will need to have an understanding of;

*HP and Toshiba PC/Laptop hardware,
*Windows XP, 7 operating system,
*Office 2003 - 2010 application
*Cisco switch technology
*HP Server and SAN storage environment of about 90 servers running Windows 2003 Server to 2008 R2 Server
* Red Hat Linux 5
* Exchange 2003 - 2010
*Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
* Microsoft DNS and DHCP
* HP Data Protector Backup

The Candidate
