Overview:
This company is a manufacturer of wireless transmission products, and this role will provide technical support to customers deploying Microwave Transmission systems. You`ll be managing technical queries and solutions in cooperation with the company help desk in accordance with relevant SLA. This role would suit a skilled engineer, ideally with in depth telecoms network transmission experience and knowledge of point to point Microwave systems.

We are happy to speak with professionals that have UK based telecoms network / transmission support experience either in a NOC or helpdesk environment or technical support professionals from the cellular / microwave / mobile industry.

You`ll provide resident engineer support to the Customer Service Operations 2nd line support teams in accordance with Service Operations KPI requirements.

Duties:

*Perform Transport Network related O&M activities
*Perform preventive maintenance and optimisation in accordance with company equipment specifications
*Carry out reactive maintenance on all network equipments, including faults analysis, restoration and resolution;
*Escalate faults to central help desk if their contribution is needed for timely restoration or final resolution
*Work in conjunction with Customer team in analysing and resolving all issues pertaining to the inter-working and integration of the Transport Network with Customer Network
*Perform network element deployment, migration and re-parenting, parameter changes, software and hardware changes, functionality activations and all necessary configurations
*Have to be up to date on the existing customer operational processes and procedures.
*Liaise with field teams to solve installation related issues

Experience:

*Detailed knowledge of telecommunications network equipment
*Detailed knowledge of telecommunications standards and practices
*Point to point microwave networking experience preferred
*Experience on Unix/Linux preferred
*Planning, organisational, analytical, decision making and problem solving skills.
*Team leadership skills
*Knowledge of Network management systems and techniques.
*Knowledge of IP and TDM technology.
*MS office including Excel and Access
*Cisco CCNA or relevant data networking skills
*Strong knowledge of IP networking
