Job Summary

Role: Supply Chain Manager (Telecoms)
Location: North Wales
Package: £40-50k plus benefits

JOB PURPOSE / OVERVIEW

Reporting to Managing Director, the Supply Chain Manager will have the responsibility for establishing the most appropriate suppliers for the business, and then negotiating the best prices and payments terms.
This is an import and manufacture environment dealing with telecommunications equipment and the role will involve all aspects of the quality and costs of purchased items to ensure full support of the production system.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

*Be responsible for implementing a purchasing and procurement systems to enable the timely flow or requisitions and approvals through the relevant business channels.
*Liaise with our suppliers and help implement lean tools to enable lower cost, higher quality and on time delivery
*Form a partnership our suppliers for the long term mutual benefits of regular supplier and year on year cost reductions
*Co- ordinate and monitor timing using CCARs to ensure achievement of key timing milestones
*Co-ordinate and help develop a Buyer who is a direct report
*Form a catalogue of suppliers with facility, technical ability, and equipment and supply details for future business
*Maintain a Purchase Orders systems to accurately track supply performances
*Use Lean experience to assist in the continuous improvement activities within plant and ensure documentation is completed and up to date.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Particular Experience, Skills / Aptitude required:

*Some Lean manufacturing abilities including working knowledge of the basic tools
*Value stream mapping
*6 Sigma DMAIC
*Good computer software like excel, power point and word
*Good negotiating skills
*Proven presentation skills
*Some practical experience of developing supply companies
*Minimum of 5 years related practical experience in Purchasing and procurement
*Previous telecommunication or electronics industry experience
*Proven experience of delivering programmes within a structured discipline, timing gateways and documentation
*Demonstration of a high standards of interpersonal skills
