You`ll be responsible for supporting the running, design and re-design and planned expansion of this national fibre network. You`ll have an in depth configuration knowledge of Layer 3 traffic engineering, BGP and MPLS.

The Role: Network Engineer (BGP, MPLS, OSPF)
Location: Oxford / Reading
Package: £270-285 a day through LTD company

Overview:
We are looking to recruit a Cisco bias network engineer from either a telecoms or ISP background to join this rapidly expanding technology company.

You`ll be responsible for supporting the running, design and re-design and planned expansion of this national fibre network.

You`ll have an in depth configuration knowledge of Layer 3 traffic engineering, BGP and MPLS.

In addition, it`s assumed you`ll have experience of working around data centres and will have the drive and determination to work in a fast moving, project based, expanding technology environment.

Required skills & experience:

* Practical knowledge of BGP and layer 3 traffic engineering.
* CCNP standard or equivalent qualification
* Multiple network technology exposure - IP, Ethernet, MPLS, VLANS and switching
* Troubleshooting and debugging within a service provider environment
* Working with, and managing 3rd parties to ensure solutions delivery
* Data Centre exposure
* IP network design

Desirable:
* Juniper network exposure and possibly JNCP
* CCNP - design or service provider (SP)

Typical Duties:

* Produce detailed design documentation
* Network engineering and support of current issues/problems on the network and propose / deliver solutions
* Field installation and service when required to resolve network issues
* Network monitoring and management
* Provide information for monthly reports on networks status and work on projects linked to findings
